Our Blog
Welcome to our little blog. Here you can find short articles related to Bryan and I's life. It certainly won't reflect everything going on, but we will probably make announcements and share a little bit about what's happening here.
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Hello everyone! The date is quickly approaching and I want to get some important details out to everyone: 1) Bryan and I have officially moved to Florida. We are still unpacking boxes but the wedding planning must go on….
2) We have reserved rooms at the BIMINI BIG GAME. Room rates are $99 a night and cottages are $150 a night. Please follow the link for the Big Game under the accomadations sections to reserve a room. Mention the Young/Franks wedding to receive this discounted room rate.
3) Getting here: It would be best to fly into Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). Currently two airlines are flying to Bimini. BIMINI ISLAND AIR flies out of the executive airport, about a 20 minute ride from the Fort Lauderdale airport. CONTINENTAL flies from fort Lauderdale international airport. Due to the number of people coming from all over, we will not be chartering a flight. After some investigation we feel it will be too difficult to coordinate everyone’s flights.
4) We are getting excited! Please feel free to email any questions you may have. Thanks!

Congratulations to Laura and Paul and Dave and Karen on their weddings! It seems all of our friends are jumping on the marriage train…. I recently went to the UK to see Bryan’s and my good friend Laura get married. It was an awesome visit and I was so happy that Laura invited me to share the special occasion with them! Another mutual friend from Bimini was at the wedding and it was a whirlwind of dancing, eating, and catching up. It was sad to say goodbye, but I was excited for the next leg of my trip. I visited another friend in Wales. I was amazed at the stunning mountains, forests, and ocean. Every picture I took looks like a postcard. After such a great trip, I was happy to get back home to Bryan. I guess there really is no place like home.

Life in Philadelphia has been crazy as usual. Bryan and I attended the American Elasmobranch Society meeting in St. Louis, Missouri last week. Bryan gave an excellent talk about his research, and we both spoke to people about possible future research opportunities. Half of the fun for us to attend AES is catching up with old friends. We get to wine and dine with people we only see once a year. I don’t think there was a night we went to bed before 2:00am, and we were the first to retire! It was sad to leave all of our friends but we will see everyone in just a few months at the wedding! The day after we got back my dad flew in for two nights for a work conference. I have to admit our tour guide skills were a bit drained from all the excitement and we settled for a dinner out and a relaxing night on the couch. Although I don’t think my dad minded too much considering he fell asleep sitting up after half an hour!

I just wanted to give an extra special thank you to my Aunt Nina and Cleverful for this amazing website! Bryan and I cannot express how wonderful it is to have this website that truly reflects our personalities. In addition, it is an efficient and environmentally friendly vehicle to keep in touch with everyone we know and love. Thank you so much!

Alright, this is our first blog so please bear with us. Life has been very busy. My mom visited Philadelphia for the first time last weekend. Now Bryan's and my parents have officially met. We had a whirlwind weekend, including visiting the historic sites of Philadelphia, tasting the famous philly cheesesteak, touring 'down the shore,' and of course, shopping. I am sorry to say she left Philadelphia with a bad cold, but it was fun playing tour guide.
